Couple of anthropomorphic sculptures in Afzelia wood by Begga D’Haese (1934 – 2023).
Younger sister of Reinhoud D'Haese who was part of the nursery of the Cobra group in the 1950s and Roel D'Haese who is considered the greatest Flemish surrealist sculptor, Begga had to make a name for himself.
From 1969 she start working on monumental sculptures, from which @igmarstuer
and @pschantiques offer today three original and unique examples.
The three are signed on the bottom.
